Lady EtiquetteSo blogging is fairly new to me. I’ve read them before, but actually writing within that context is different. Different from contracts and professional writing like I was used to. A few months into this and I have some items I want to address. Trying to figure out where to start is another issue. I recently saw “Blogging for Dummies” being used on another guy’s site. Thought it actually might be a start. However I’m broke and cannot afford to being hanging out at The Tattered Cover. So let’s look online next. I found Tip Junkie, a blog that “promotes creative women through their ideas and products”. The post I wanted was all on blog etiquette or ‘blogtiquette’. While most of it seemed common sense there were some things I hadn’t thought of. My first concerns centered on comments and connecting to others. Then with assistance of the post I had found and all the references* made within, I’ve compiled this list of rules to be followed. To govern this list I wish to present you Lady Etiquette, Althea. Isn’t she grand? And for those of you that know her, this is Hyacinth’s sister.

  1. Respond to people that comment on my posts. I really am interested in your thoughts and want you to come back.
  2. Kiss… Don’t be long winded as one these bloggers put it. Blog posts are not magazine articles. Short is okay because not always about how big it is.
  3. Get more involved in my new community. Search and try to discover other sites I can get down with. Oh, yeah.
  4. Give the love right back. Once I figure out to update my Blogroll you could be on it!
  5. Don’t just blog about work gossip or personal items that could damage a relationship or get me fired. Need to be careful with my “rich, crazy lady customer” stories.  Hehe, I know they’re fun…

*These aren’t necessarily blogs that I’m the intended audience for. However I found they did have some great advice for this post. Thank you Stupid Church People, The Original Mud Puppy and Rocks In My Dryer.

Crazy, rich ladies don’t read blogs, so you go right ahead and entertain us with them.

Was that perchance a reference to Hyacinth (it’s Bouquet) Bucket?

And, yeah, I’m all for crazy rich lady stories — but I don’t want you to get fired.
